Events Guide from Oceanic Global
Oceanic Global believes knowledge should be open-source. This guide describes how to implement sustainable best practices for events, with a strong focus on reducing single-use plastics and optimizing waste management. This guide outlines a checklist of single-use plastic items commonly used in the event industry and identifies operational recommendations and solutions that can be implemented for events of all types and sizes. Recommendations include pre-event planning, day-of and post production.
Austin, TX Green Events Guidebook
The City of Austin created this guidebook to provide event organizers with information about general requirements and best practices to host a sustainable event. But this guide is a wonderful “best practice” resource for everyone! It covers everything you need to consider when planning a sustainable event.

Event Industry Council
The EIC Sustainable Event Standards are a collection of six (6) specific standards that assess events and industry suppliers on a wide range of sustainability criteria in support of environmental and social responsibility. The Standards are FREE to download, and are a list of best practices unto themselves.

Green Production Guide Tool Kit
The PEACH was created for the film industry, but can be used for events. The PEACH (Production Environmental Actions Checklist) & PEACH+ (with added measures) include practices that each department can implement throughout production. Tip: Go through the document with each department in prep to start your planning, and then again at wrap to find out what was achieved.
